Woody Harrelson Is Rumored To Be The Main Villain In Venom

Published

on

Tom Hardy might be going toe to toe with Woody Harrelson in Venom.

Rumor has it that Harrelson will play the iconic Spider-Man villain Carnage. There’s a blank space next to Woody Harrelson’s name in the character listing for Venom, but a little birdie is claiming the famed actor will play Carnage in the upcoming film.

Bleeding Cool reports that they’ve been told in “a very confirm-y way that not only is Carnage to appear in the upcoming Venom movie but, yes, he will be played by Woody Harrelson.”
Carnage debuted in 1992’s Amazing Spider-Man #360 when an alien symbiote merged with a serial killer named Cletus Kasady, thus creating a darker villain than Venom. However, Carnage became so vicious Venom eventually had to team up with his archenemy Spider-Man to stop him. It seems Hardy’s Venom might have to fend off Carnage by himself this time.

Bringing Carnage into the fold would also make plenty of sense from a narrative point of view. Most of the evidence seems to suggest that Venom is adapting the Lethal Protector and Planet of the Symbiotes storylines

Lebron James Producing ‘Friday The 13th’ Reboot

Published

on

Lebron James is rebooting another cult classic.

James SpringHill Entertainment company and Vertigo Entertainment, the latter of which produced It, are producing a remake of Friday The 13th.

The success of the Halloween and It are key factors to trying to reboot the horror franchise featuring Jason. The franchise also has been on hold due to lawsuits from the original screenwriter Victor Miller. Miller won his case in court retaining the rights to his screenplay.

The plaintiffs, which include producer and director Sean Cunningham, could still appeal, and one item not on the table at the trial was who controls the rights to the character of Jason Vorhees, who dies as a young boy in the first movie but becomes the unstoppable hockey mask-wearing killer the franchise would become known for.

Settlements or future legal battles could still occur. Another foil is that the legal decision seems to indicate that Miller will control the rights in the U.S. The producers and Warner Bros., which last made a movie through New Line, control certain international territories.

According to THR, no writers have been signed on yet.

Netflix Cancels Luke Cage Series

Published

on

It looks like Luke Cage is the latest Marvel Hero to get canceled.

Netflix announced they would be canceling the series just a week after canceling Iron Fist. “Unfortunately, Marvel’s Luke Cage will not return for a third season,” Marvel and the streaming service said on Friday. “Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series.”

The second season had Luke Cage embracing his fame after the events of Defenders until Bushmaster played by Mustafia Shakir shows up to claim Harlem. Bushmaster wanted control of Harlem’s gangs, something that not only puts him on Luke’s to-punch list, but also in the crosshairs of Mariah (Alfre Woodard,) who has consolidated her control of Harlem and isn’t interested in interlopers. Fortunately, Luke isn’t without backup, as Misty Knight (Simone Missick) has a bright shiny new robot arm to beat up goons with.

Luke Cage was one of the best shows on Netflix, its sad day that creative difference between the higher-ups means no show for the fans.
