Wonder Woman 1984 Pushed Back To Summer 2020

Wonder Woman is moving to a summer release.

The sequel to Wonder Woman was originally set for Nov. 1, 2019, now Wonder Woman 1984 is delayed to June 5, 2020.

Gal Gadot tweeted out the news on Monday. “Super excited to announce that, thanks to the changing landscape, we are able to put Wonder Woman back to its rightful home. June 5, 2020. Be there or be square!!!” wrote the action star.

According to THR,  Warners president of domestic distribution said in a statement shortly after Gadot’s tweet that, “We had tremendous success releasing the first Wonder Woman film during the summer so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did. This move lands the film exactly where it belongs.”

This is a big move for Warner Bros. The movie is set to be released weeks before Top Gun: Maverick, Dwayne and Johnson’s Red Notice. The movie will also follow up the Disney sequel to Maleficent 2 and Godzilla vs King Kong.
