‘Venom’ Dominates Overseas $125 Million At The Boxoffice

Tom Hardy’s standalone Spider-Man film, Venom earned the highest overseas debut for Sony.

The film earned over $125.2 million from 20,800 screens in 58 markets. Sony earned over $205 million during the opening weekend of there first planned Spiderverse film.

The studio said that Venom had come in above recent stand-alone superhero titles, topping Wonder Woman by 38%, Ant-Man And The Wasp by 32% and Logan by 29% for the same group of markets at current exchange rates.

South Korea was the top grosser with $16.4 million in five days. Russia followed with $13.6 million and drew $10.5 million in the U.K.
