Starz Is Developing A John Wick TV Series

Published

on

The John Wick universe is growing with the announcement that Starz will debut a TV series based on the films. The Continental will be set in the John Wick universe, focusing on the inner workings of the exclusive Continental Hotel which serves as a refuge for assassins.

“This series is truly unlike anything else on TV,” said Chris Albrecht, Starz president and CEO. “The Continental promises to include the thunderous fight sequences and intensely staged shootouts between professional assassins and their targets that fans have come to expect in the John Wick movie franchise as well as introducing some new, darkly compelling characters who inhabit this underground world.”

The Continental will take place at a Los Angeles-based Continental hotel (thus moving it away from the traditional New York home of Mr. Wick), and the pilot will be shot by stunt guru/John Wick director Chad Stahelski. Eternal badass, Keanu Reeves, is also reportedly on board as well, serving as an Executive Producer for the show — with a cameo appearance of unknown size even expected.

John Wick: Chapter 3 will hit theaters May 17th. There is no word on when the serious will be released.

Michael B. Jordan is ready to entire the ring again in Creed II.

In the sequel, Adonis Creed will go toe to toe against the son of Ivan Drago. Jordan spoke about Victor Drago’s motivation in the film.

“Victor’s storyline is very layered,” Jordan told the Toronto Sun. “The two guys are similar in a lot of ways…Adonis feels, naturally, a certain animosity towards Viktor and Ivan, and then there are other themes in there: the maturity of growth, the importance of family, of legacy, is what makes Creed so special. It’s not just about revenge.”

When asked if he would be willing to carry on as Adonis Creed for four decades, similar to Stallone, Jordan said he’s definitely up for it.

“If I’m lucky. I want to keep making them as long as they’re good,” he said. “I always want to keep my finger on the pulse. Forty two years, I mean, who knows?”
