The Kawhi Leonard saga continues.
After reports that the star wants out of San Antonio and is willing to sit out another year. This led many to believe that Kawhi would be traded during the free agency period. The Spurs feel that they are holding all the cards and are no rush to let go of their star player.
The Spurs has asked the Lakers for the house and the kitchen sink for Leonard. The Spurs reportedly want the Lakers to trade them Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Josh Hart, two first-round picks, and two pick swaps. This is absurd. Especially for a player with Kawhi’s talent.
The Lakers and Magic Johnson would be crazy to make this deal for a player that will be available in Free Agency in a year. This would gut the roster leaving the Lakers with Lebron James, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Rajon Rondo, Lonzo Ball, Lance Stephenson, and JaVale McGee.
That should be a hard no. If the Spurs want to let Kawhi walk away they should. Boston has already said none of their star players are on the table. Meaning they are only willing to send picks and some role players. The Sixers don’t have enough quality players to offer the San Antonio.
So now it is the waiting game to see which team will crack first.
