Russell Wilson “I want to be an owner of a team one day”

Superbowl winning Quarterback Super Bowl Russell Wilson wants to join the ranks of David Beckham, Magic Johnson, and Michael Jordan. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal Wilson said he wanted to be the owner of a pro team after he retires.

“I want to be an owner of a team one day, whether it’s baseball or football–Maybe even both.”

Russell Wilson says he would like to own a professional team after his football career is over.

Wilson, 25, helped lead the Seahawks to the franchise’s first Super Bowl championship earlier this month.

Wilson was a fourth-round draft pick of the Colorado Rockies in 2010 and was selected by the Texas Rangers in the Rule 5 draft in December. He discussed his ownership aspirations while explaining his decision to visit Texas’ spring training facility next week.

“For me, I’d love to get around to as many people as I can,” said Wilson, a third-round draft choice by Seattle in 2012. “Because at the end of the day, I want to learn as much as I can so that way, in my future — down the road after playing 20 years hopefully for the Seahawks — I can do that.”
