Rockets Trade Carmelo Anthony To The Bulls

Carmelo Anthony’s short tenure with the Houston Rockets has now come to an end.

The Rockets have traded the 10-time All Star to the Chicago Bulls. The Rockets needed to make room on the roster to sign Kenneth Faried after he was waived by the Nets.

Melo only played 15 games with the Rockets before the team and he decided to part ways. Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey issued a statement on forward Carmelo Anthony’s future with the team early in November.

“After much internal discussion, the Rockets will be parting ways with Carmelo Anthony and we are working toward a resolution,” said Morey. “Carmelo had a tremendous approach during his time with the Rockets and accepted every role head coach Mike D’Antoni gave him. The fit we envisioned when Carmelo chose to sign with the Rockets has not materialized, therefore we thought it was best to move on as any other outcome would have been unfair to him.”

The Bulls do not plan on immediately waiving Melo. But most GMs are expecting Melo to make his way to the Los Angles Lakers with his close friend Lebron James.
