The Punisher Gets A New Trailer And A Release Date

Published

on

The Punisher is officially being released. Many fans were worried that the show would be shelved after it was pulled from Comic Con due to the Vegas shooting and being postponed. The companies released a joint statement following the tragedy. “After careful consideration, Netflix and Marvel have decided it wouldn’t be appropriate for Marvel’s The Punisher to participate in New York Comic-Con–Our thoughts continue to be with the victims and those affected by this tragedy.”

The show is now set to debut on November 17th.  Previous promo for the show had the actual date blacked out like covert operation files. After appearing in Daredevil, Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle is ready for his on standalone of series.

The new trailer shades some new light on Marvel’s new twist on the character. In comics Frank Castle was a ex cop facing off against the corrupt cops and the mafia in New York, in an attempt to get revenge for his family. The Netflix’s take will turns Castle into an ex-marine facing off against the CIA and his fellow marines after the death of his family.

The Punisher will feature his comic book ally Micro (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), Homeland Security agents Dinah Madani (Amber Rose Revah) and Sam Stein (Michael Nathanson), Frank’s friend Curtis Hoyle (Jason R. Moore), army veteran Lewis Walcott (Daniel Webber), Micro’s wife Sarah Lieberman (Jaime Ray Newman), and Frank’s ally from Daredevil, Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll). Additionally, Ben Barnes plays Billy Russo, Frank’s former friend turned enemy in The Punisher series.
