Published

Focus Films new documentary one of the legacy of Mister Rogers will make you reconsider if you are doing enough for your neighbors.

The documentary will feature interviews with those involved in the creation of the children’s television series, including producer Margy Whitmer, who quips, “You take all of the elements that make good television, and do the exact opposite — you have ‘Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood’….yet, it worked.” Others interviewed in the trailer include Elizabeth Seamans, who played Mrs. McFeely, and Francois Clemmons, who played Officer Clemmons.

The trailer touches on how the film will explore “Mister Rogers’” radical nature — the show covered topics like death, divorce, and racism.

Shazam! Trailer Debuts At Comic Con

Published

on

Warner Bros is bringing Shazam to the big screen for the first time. Zachery Levi stars as the teenager that turns into a super hero with the magical word.

In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Shazam! opens April 5, 2019 and also stars Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Djimon Hounsou, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Ron Cephas Jones.

This is a huge tone shift from the dark work from BVS and Justice League.

Aquaman Is Ready To Rule The Seven Seas In First Trailer

Published

on

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for the underwater epic Aquaman.

Jason Momoa and Director James Wan are changing the narrative of Aquaman with this standalone film. Wan spoke about his vision for the popular DC character.

“It’s going to look very different, it will feel very different, aesthetically, tonally, story-wise, it’s my own take. It’s a much more a traditional action-adventure quest movie…Aquaman has been the joke of the comic book world, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought how cool that would be. Let’s take the character everybody makes fun of and do something really interesting with him.”

For Momoa it’s really simple, “My job is to make this guy cool”.

Check out the official synopsis for the movie.

“From Warner Bros. Pictures and director, James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman”, starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime — one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be … a king.”

Aquaman will be in theaters December 21.

Universal Pictures has released the first official trailer for Glass.

Glass is the long-awaited Unbreakable sequel, which also serves as a sequel to last year’s Split, finally arrives next year. Samuel L. Jackson is back as Mr. Glass, with James Mcavoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb, and Bruce Willis as David Dunn.

Split was a surprise hit for M. Night Shyamalan and fans of Unbreakable. The movie made $40 million on the opening weekend and did a more than respectable $276 million worldwide, off a $9 million budget. But the biggest twist was finding out it was in the same universe as Unbreakable.

Samuel L. Jackson spoke about his character and working with James McAvoy.

“All of a sudden, my character has the thing he wanted: the heroic good guy, the bad guy, and I get to be in the middle of them. It has a distinct satisfaction if you remember what his theory was all along, that there are people out here with extraordinary powers who can do extraordinary things. And it’s amazing to watch James [McAvoy] have an argument with four different characters in front of my face.”

Glass is set to hit theaters January 18, 2019.
