2018 is going to be a busy year for Michael B. Jordan. He will be in Marvel’s Black Panther, HBO’s Fahrenheit 451 remake, and returning to the Rocky series. According to Variety Jordan will also be adding a legal drama to his slate of movies.
Jordan is set to star Just Mercy based on the book “Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption,” it follows the true story of Bryan Stevenson, a gifted young lawyer’s defense of the most vulnerable in our country and his fight for equal justice in a flawed legal system.
Jordan is reprising his role as Adonis Creed in Creed 2. Mercy will start production at the beginning of 2018 after Jordan has completed filming Creed 2.
Short Term 12 director Destin Cretton is helming and co-wrote the script with Andrew Lanham. Jordan will produce with Gil Netter. Niija Kuykendall will oversee for the studio.
Warner Bros is set to release the film.
