Lupe Fiasco Apologizes To Kendrick Lamar Over Lyricism Comments

Published

on

Lupe Fiasco caught a lot of heat when he questioned Kendrick Lamar skill set as a lyricist. Fiasco did not comment on his album sells, rather KDot as a “top tier lyricist” according to some tweets he shared in January.

During a recent Instagram Live session, which was reposted to YouTube on March 20, the Chicago MC apologizes for criticizing K. Dot’s talent.

Lupe starts off by sharing his regret of his previous statements, explaining how Lamar’s famous verse on “Control” was what triggered his opinions.

The rapper recently took to Instagram live to apologize for not respecting Lamar’s talent. “Maybe I should have just left it alone. Even though my impetus was the ‘Control’ verse,” he said in the video. “I mean you put yourself out there like that. So, you opened yourself up to critique…I apologize for even engaging and talking about n—– careers, I’ll never do that s— again.” However, the rapper made it clear that the beef he retains with Cleveland artist Kid Cudi is alive and well. “F— Cudi. Forever,” he said, “that n—- will never get an apology from me. F— that b—-.”
