Listen To Jeezy’s American Dream Featuring Kendrick And J.Cole

Published

on

Jeezy finally released the full track for his most anticipated track from Pressure. “American Dream” features J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. A snippet of the song leaked earlier this week, but now we have the full CDQ.

Jeezy’s verse focuses on his journey from nothing to something chasing the American Dream. “Four car garage for the Rari, that bitch came with the estate/That’s why the streets get so tricky, glad I ain’t fall for the bait/So focused and I’m determined to see that shit in my face”

Jezzy later takes aim at Trump, referencing his 2008 song “My President,” an ode to former President Barack Obama. “My president was black, now my president is wack / I ain’t never going broke, what’s more American than that?” he raps.

J. Cole follows suit with a politically charged verse on the harsh reality of the “American Dream” as a black American. “Hysterical screams, coming from mothers that buried their kings/ Or the unbearable pain of watching them walk out with the sheriff in chains,” Cole spits. “Becoming a number, they no longer care bout the name/ White folks been getting rich off of cocaine/ Through some underhanded methods, I don’t got time to explain.”

Kendrick doesn’t add a verse instead adds a bridge.  Lamar adds a soulful balance to the song. “I gotta eat, I gotta, make money with/I gotta feast, I gotta re-ly on what is known to the traveling man/Set his own, got my bible and my rifle in my hand, oh yeah”

Steven Spielberg Talks About The Past And The Future In New Ready Player One Featurette

Published

on

Warner Bros. has released a new featurette for Ready Player One.  The video looks at the influence Steven Spielberg’s films of the 1980s had on the Ernests Cline’s best selling novel.

The featurette opens with scenes from some of Spielberg’s iconic films: Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T.: The Extraterrestrial, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Jurassic Park.

Ready Player One is set 30 years in the future, the film finds the majority of the population taking refuge in a virtual-reality system called OASIS. It provides a nostalgic paradise after the rest of the world that has fallen to overpopulation, pollution, corruption — specifically ’80s nostalgia, thanks to the eccentric creator James Halliday’s (Mark Rylance) childhood affinity for the decade. When Halliday dies, he leaves his massive fortune up for grabs to whoever can solve the elaborate scavenger hunt he has hidden within OASIS, which is where our story begins. Tye Sheridan plays the plucky protagonist who is one of millions who embark on the scavenger hunt, while Olivia Cooke is the expert OASIS player Artemis, his foe and friend.

Ready Player One stars Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn, Simon Pegg, TJ Miller, Lena Waithe, and Mark Rylance

Ready Player One is set to arrive in theaters on March 30, 2018

Peter Dinklage Is Ready For Game Of Thrones To End

Published

on

HBO announced that Game of Thrones won’t air the final season until 2019. One of the series longtime stars Peter Dinklage is ready for the show to end.

“It’s time,” the actor said at Variety’s Sundance Film Festival studio. “Storywise, not just for all our lives. It’s the perfect time to end it. Sometimes shows stay on a little too long, the jumping-the-shark thing.”

Rumors have circulated that the final season of Game of Thrones will feature longer, possibly movie-length episodes. Most viewers already know the series won’t return this year. Dinklage, who plays the character Tyrion Lannister, didn’t clarify if he was referring to the longer shooting schedule or the rumored extended length of the episodes.

“It’s bittersweet when it’s time to move on with everything,” he said. “It’s always the sad part of our business, because you get pockets of great people for short amounts of time and then you have to move on and it’s always heartbreaking. Especially when you’ve spent more than a couple months with people.”

“My boy Qua been going crazy on the beats,” says Offset, when asked about the producers they’ve been linking up with. Not only has Quavo been on the beats he has been learning from Kanye West.

Quavo said. “I did a couple beats with Kanye, me and [DJ] Durel. It’s crazy. He’s got a crazy, different feel. He’s got all his old shit that he had from like coming in making beats and he still use his original box and his original keyboards. He’s still got his old hard drives, and all his samples and all the beat. Just to see that he still cherish the old stuff that he came in with, know that he still respect the grind.”
