The Los Angeles Lakers have finally pulled off the Anthony Davis trade.
ESPN’s Adrain Wojnarowski broke the news of the monster trade for Davis. The deal seemed to hinge on the Kyle Kuzma and additional picks. The Lakers were able to deal Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and three first round picks for Davis. This includes giving up the no. 4 overall pick of 2019 NBA draft.
Davis informed the Pelicans that he had no intentions in staying with the franchise past the 2020 season. Trade talks leaked out that the Davis was interested in joining the Lakers.
The Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks were heavy in trade negotiations with the Pelicans, but Davis’ agent Rich Paul made it clear that Davis had no intentions in signing a long term deal with any other team.
Davis is under contract for one more guaranteed season at $27.1 million with a player option for 2020-21.
