Watchmen is based on the namesake comic book epic by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons and published by DC Comics in the 1980s The feature film by Warner Bros and director Zack Snyder in 2009 with divided the fan base with the ending. The new Watchmen is neither a sequel nor a remake.
Set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws, this drama series from executive producer Damon Lindelof embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name while attempting to break new ground of its own. The cast includes: Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Jean Smart, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers and Dylan Schombing.
