First Look From The Set Of Hobbs And Shaw

Published

on

The Fast and Furious spinoff Hobbs and Shaw is officially in production.

Dwayne Johnson posted the first image from the set. The picture features Jason Statham and director Dave Leitch in front of exotic cars.

Statham was asked about the movie Hobbs and Shaw during a press junket for his upcoming Meg movie. Collider asked the action star what he thinks Leitch would bring to the franchise.

“I think Dave Leitch’s taste is a little more grounded and a little darker. If you see Atomic Blonde, and it is just superb, his taste is definitely in a world that is sort of how you described it.” said Statham “I think he’s looking to do something that doesn’t look exactly like a Fast movie. Although it’s the Fast characters, he’s trying to do his own thing with it and give it a real sense of credibility. I think Dave is going to get this one gritty, and real, and fucking hardcore”

Hobbs and Shaw will star Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Idris Elba, and Vanessa Kirby. The film will be the start of a new action franchise for Universal Pictures.

Hobbs and Shaw hits theaters on August 2, 2019.
