Drake owned 2018 with the release of Scorpion, but it seems he’s ready to continue the streak in 2019.
Drake announced he will start recording his next project as soon as the Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour wraps up.
“Six shows left […] I guess most people would go on a vacation, or I don’t know what they do… But I’mma tell you what I’m gonna do,” he told the crowd. “Because I keep having nights like this that remind me why I love my job so much, I promise you that as soon as this tour is over—and maybe I’ll take, like, a little break—I’mma get right to work on a new album, so we can be right here […] and have a new party.”

The forthcoming release will be the follow-up to this year’s Scorpion, in which Drake claimed he had fulfilled his contractual obligations to Cash Money Records: “Soon as the album drop, I’m out of the deal,” he raps on “Is There More.”
Drizzy was the first artist to reach ever to reach 10 billion streams on Apple thanks to the release of Scorpion.
