Def Jam Music And The Jets Have A New Partnership

Published

on

Def Jam Music will now be the soundtrack for the New York Jets.

The two iconic New York brands collaborate on exclusive content, music and in-game experience. Def Jam will provide unique content from its artists to enhance Jets fans’ in-game experience.

Scott Greer, Def Jam’s EVP of Marketing & Commerce, explains why the cross-promotion deal makes sense due to the intersection of football and Hip Hop cultures. Def Jam is also creating the Jets team anthem, which will be heard at all their home games as the team takes the field in MetLife Stadium this season.

“Collaborating with another iconic New York brand like the New York Jets to create content and original in-game music has a natural synergy for our brand and our audience, and is a great way for Def Jam to bring fans of the Jets and hip-hop together and broaden the reach for our artists,” Greer says.

The video content series will feature interactions between Def Jam’s artists and Jets athletes. The video series will contain highlights of various elements from both Def Jam and the Jets throughout the season.

James Bond Will Stay A Male Character In Future Franchises

Published

on

James Bond will always be a man on screen.

Rumors have been swirling on what the next iteration of the character would be after Daniel Craig leaves the role. Reports had Emily Blunt attached in gender swap of the character.

Bond producer Barbara Broccoli put an end to all of those rumors.

“Bond is male. He’s a male character. He was written as a male and I think he’ll probably stay as a male And that’s fine. We don’t have to turn male characters into women. Let’s just create more female characters and make the story fit those female characters.”

Production has been pushed back to March of 2019. The film will now be released on February 14th, 2020.

Top Gun Sequel Pushed Back A Year

Published

on

Tom Cruise’s Top Gun sequel is been officially moved.

Top Gun: Maverick was originally set to hit theaters on July 12, 2019. Now the movie will instead be released on June 26, 2020. Paramount announced move was due to technical issues pushing back production.

This might be a great move for the film to get out the crowded 2019 July slot. Spider-Man: Far from Home will be released on July 5th. Followed by the live action version of Disney’s The Lion King on July 19th.

Director Joesph Kosinski gave some details on what fans can expect for the sequel.

“The navy is very different now than it was in 1986,” said Kosinski. “It’s just a different world now, so you can’t remake the first movie. It has to adapt, [but] I certainly want to re-create the experience of that movie, which gives you a front seat into the world of naval aviation and what it’s like to be in a fighter jet.”

Top Gun: Maverick is scheduled for release on July 12, 2019.
