Damian Lillard Shows Support For Demar Derozan

Demar DeRozan with the aftermath of being blindsided by the trade that sent him to San Antonio. The five-time NBA All-Star was traded to the Spurs for Kawhi Leonard.

DeRozan always expressed how much he loved the organization and wanted to retire with the team. Instead, he was shipped off by the team he led to the playoffs for four years in a row. While some fans expect the players to just be mute on the matter since they are getting paid. [Sidenote: Dumb ASF]

Plenty of players around the league have shown their support to Rozan. Portland guard Damian Lillard posted an image of him Demar with the caption “It’s a dirty game”.

Other players around the league were also shocked when the trade went down.

DeRozan spoke with ESPN during a sit-down interview to discuss his thoughts on the trade.

“I mean, when you say “them,” that’s kind of frustrating. Like, who is “them”? You put the blame on just me and Casey? Because obviously we are the only two who had to suffer from the loss that we had in the Cleveland series. But it’s only one team that we lost to in the postseason — and that team went to the [NBA] Finals every single year. With an opportunity approaching itself, my mindset and the rest of my teammates’ mindset was the only guy who was in the way of making that happen leaves. Now we got a great opportunity to do something that we haven’t been able to do. At the end of the day, I gave everything I had to that team. And it showed, it showed in the progress we made as a team and me as an individual. So when you put that out there saying “gave them chances” and “I have to do something” … it’s B.S. to me.”

“There are whispers around the league that neither Jimmy Butler nor Kawhi Leonard wants to play with LeBron, and sources I’ve talked to would be shocked if Klay Thompson left Golden State,” wrote Conner.

Leonard has expressed the possibility of him resigning with the Raptors. Before he was traded to the Raptors, Leonard was rumored to want to join one of the LA teams.

“I want to play here,” Leonard said. “I came in with an open mind. I want to do great things … focus on this year. If you’re looking toward the future, you’re going to trip over the present.”

Butler on the other hand clear wants out of Minnesota. He wants to sign with a team that has enough cap space to sign another big named free agent.

If the Lakers can not add Butler or Leonard is would be a setback for the Lakers. The team has the cap space to add one more big named free agent to join James. Magic Johnson wanted to sign Paul George in the offseason but he decided to re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
