The NFL is still having problems signing on Hip-Hop acts for the Super Bowl.
Cardi B has added her name to the list of the artists to decline a spot with Maroon 5. Jay-Z and Rihanna turned down the Super Bowl to support Colin Kaepernick. Page Six is reporting that Cardi is not performing due to money.
The source claimed that the diva rapper had demanded a staggering fee of up to $1 million, plus a solo spot in the epic halftime show to make it worth her while.
Artists are not paid for the halftime show, but are given a “gift in kind” by the NFL to cover expenses such as production, transport and wardrobe.
Other close to the “Money” rapper insists she is not performing to support Kap.
“The rumor circulating that she wants a million dollars and she wants her own set is false. There was never a firm offer to begin with for a performance. There [were] talks about it, but she was not particularly interested in participating because of how she feels about Colin Kaepernick and the whole movement . . . But again, there was never a solid offer for her to say yes or no to regarding the Super Bowl. She is already confirmed to do a set with Bruno Mars that weekend.”
