Blake Griffin scored a career-high 50 points Tuesday night at Little Caesars Arena. Griffin’s last-second go-ahead layup sealed the win in overtime against the Philadelphia 76ers 133-132.
Griffin became the sixth Piston in history to score at least 50 points with the last being Rip Hamilton’s 51 in 2006. Other members of the exclusive club were Jerry Stackhouse (01), Kelly Tripucka (83), Dave Bing (71) and George Yardley twice (58).

Griffin also contributed 14 rebound and six assists.

“Blake had an MVP effort,” Pistons guard Reggie Jackson said. “You got a guy like that, a former No. 1 pick, put this team on his back. He did some heavy lifting. It was outstanding to see. Since the season started, he’s been a great leader.”
He is averaging a league-high 36.3 points in addition to 11.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists.
