Black Panther Origins Explored In New Featurette

The Black Panther has been apart of Marvel Comics for 52 years, now the character will finally get his own standalone movie. Marvel has released a featurette on the comic book origins of the character.

After debuting in Captain America: Civil War filmmaker Ryan Coogler, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige and Stan Lee, who co-created Panther with the late Jack Kirby, are taking a look back on the history of this groundbreaking hero in a new video exploring how the comics have inspired the Feb. 16 movie.

“You want the wow factor, but it’s not just stuff blowing up. It’s definitely a character piece,” says Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman. “It’s interesting, unlike a lot of superheroes he has to balance a nation.”

But if you want a better breakdown of the character, checkout the video from Dope Spill.

Marvel Studios’ Black Panther opens in U.S. theaters on February 16, 2018.
