Aquaman Testing Positive With Early Screenings

Published

Jason Momoa’s take on Arthur Curry aka Aquaman was one of the best parts of the Justice League movie. After the film bombed at the boxoffice, fans have been a little skeptical on rather DC could pull off standalone Aquaman movie.

Early reactions are starting to trickle in from the test screenings of Aquaman and they are overwhelmingly positive. The sources claim to have “loved” the movie and then praised the action packed emotional story.

Popcorn Talk’s Meet the Movie Press, The Tracking Board editor and The Wrap’s Umberto Gonzalez weigh in on early Aquaman test screenings and it sounds like they’ve also heard a lot of good things about the DC Comics adaptation. “I heard it was great, man,” Gonzalez claims, pointing to it being a turning point for DC: “Someone else told me it was a palette cleanser for them, for DC, what’s happened with the Zack Snyder films. So high hopes for that one and Shazam.”

“I heard that it plays like an Indiana Jones movie and that the action puts Wonder Woman and Justice League to shame. That is what I heard,” Sneider adds before going on to praise James Wan and pointing out that the underwater scenes could be why people seem to love the unique action scenes.

Aquaman will come to theaters December 21, 2o18.

Marvel head Kevin Feige said Black Panther 2 will happen whenever director Ryan Coogler is ready. It seems that critically acclaimed director is ready to return to his billion dollar franchise.

According to a report by Metro, Coogler is already in the process of drafting script for the sequel.

“Ryan Coogler is currently mapping out Black Panther’s sequel and has written in a number of new characters that movie-goers will be introduced to when it premieres,” said the source, according to Metro. “One of those characters, if he gets his wish, will be played by Childish Gambino. Nothing is set in stone but ‘informal talks’ [are happening] between Ryan, Gambino and reps from Marvel and Disney to see if they can make it happen.”

He’s also reportedly in talks with his longtime collaborator, Michael B. Jordan, to return for the sequel as well.

“They’re still yet to decide if Michael B. Jordan will return in some capacity but if he doesn’t it’s likely Gambino may play some kind of villain,” said the source.

But it would be hard for Marvel to justify the return of Michael B. Jordan as Killmonger, after the events of part one.
